Gabe Amey As the Branch Manager of HomeLoan Financial, Gabe brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Born and raised in Hawaii, Gabe attended college in the California Bay Area during the dot com boom. His exposure to the growth of the Internet fueled his passion for harnessing its potential to allow small business to compete with established industry giants.
A veteran in the mortgage industry since 2004, Gabe had the opportunity to launch HomeLoan Financial in 2007 and realize his vision of integrating his web and mortgage experience to create a new generation of mortgage lender.
Jim Owens Jim has worked in the mortgage industry in Hawaii since 1997. He has experienced nearly every aspect of the industry from selling loans on the secondary market, designing mortgage banking software & working with brokers and consumers originating home loans.
His recent experience managing teams of wholesale & retail originators inspired him to this current venture of establishing HomeLoan Financial and HawaiiVALoans.com as a premier mortgage provider in the islands.

3/09 The Obama Administration intruduces the 'Making Home Affordable Program' (HAMP) to help struggling homeowners modify or refinance their mortgage.
5/09 The 'Home Valuation Code of Conduct' (HVCC) introduced to establish standards for solicitation, compensation, conflicts of interest and appraiser independence. The HVCC essentially prohibits loan officers and mortgage brokers from selecting appraisers.

10/09 Faced with budget cuts, the State of Hawaii, the Unitied Public Workers Unit 1, the Hawaii Government Employees Association & the Hawaii State Teachers Association agree to close public schools for 17 Furlough Fridays over the next 2 years.

12/09 HomeLoan Financial graduates it's first class from their new Loan Officer training course.
1/10 Regulation Z goes into effect which requires all mortgage professionals to use a standardized Good Faith Estimate (GFE). The 2010 GFE aims to help borrowers understand the true cost of their loan, see if their mortgage rate or payments can ever increase and determine if there is a prepayment penalty on their loan.

3/10 HomeLoan Financial branches out and establishes a Maui Satellite Office, expanding their team to 12 total employees.
